Hi, I'm Viv Philps-Tate

Thanks for coming to my site. The focus of my work is helping and supporting individuals, groups and organisations to make change in situations where they’re feeling stuck and they may not know why that is or how to get out of it. They find something is stopping them achieving what they want to do or they’re running out of ideas to change something that doesn’t feel right.

These interventions fall into three major areas: Counselling and Coaching (mostly for individuals), Consulting (mostly with organisations) and Mediation (could be family, community or work-based mediation).

Where you’re working with clients to make significant shifts in thinking and behaviour and probably challenging some deeply held beliefs, I believe it’s important to equip oneself appropriately for the job.

To do that, I therefore added to a Master Practitioner qualification in NLP by taking myself through a 2 year counselling qualification course and have subsequently became fully accredited as a Counsellor/Therapist by the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) which is the professional association for members of the counselling professions in the UK.  I am also qualified to treat stress and trauma related conditions using EMDR. [Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing]

I’ve also extended my range of skills with accreditation as an Interpersonal Mediation Practitioner. For me this is an obvious extension as mediation is often a part of my other work. Again it’s about behaviour change and relationships.

To find out more about my practice, click on the areas above for more on each section. Or click here to contact me.

This is a new website where you’ll find topics of interest and general themes that are coming through in the work. Currently you’ll find a series of articles on PTSD (DGTBT) and we have various items in the pipeline around topics like coaching, recruitment, and work -related stress. I want to make this as interactive as possible, so there’ll be a Q&A attached to each article, so that questions can be answered on-line. If you’ve got any other topic that you’d like me to address, that’s really welcome so please ask through the request box.
